Umbrellas in Chiang Mai

Just saying another hello, I am still in Chiang Mai/Thailand ... another week has past and I got my first certificate!! Wahooo!! I am a certified Thai Massage therapist now!!

So, today is weekend and I had some time for excursions (during the week, with school, there is not much time left!)... I went a bit out in the greens with my Tucktuck-friend-driver.... but, it was raining a lot and so we ended in a village that is famous for production of (paper-)umbrellas. Although I did not buy one, it was interesting to look at the production and the designs.

First they showed how to make the basic frames and the paper for the umbrellas.

Down - my Tucktuck -driver (yes, a lady driver! it seems to me, that in Thailand mainly women are working!) and a pic of the rain - gosh, it can rain here, although, it does never get cold (like eg in Germany)

Nochmals 'Hallo' aus Chiang Mai/Thailand ... schon wieder ist eine Woche um und mittlerweile habe ich meine ersten Kurs erfolgreich bestanden. Juhuuuuu!! Ich darf mich nun Thaimassage-therapeutin nennen!

Nun ist Wochenende und ich habe wieder ein wenig Zeit fuer Ausfluege (unter der Woche, mit der Schule, bleibt dafuer kaum Zeit!) ... diesmal bin ich mit meiner Tucktuck-Fahrerin ein wenig ins Gruene gefahren, aus der Stadt raus, Richtung Berge... aber dann fing es an zu regnen und so sind wir in einem Ort gelandet, der beruehmt ist fuer (Papier-)Schirme Produktion. Auch wenn ich keinen gekauft habe, so war es doch interessant, zu sehen, wie sie hergestellt werden.

Viel Spass bei den Bildern und euch ein schoenes Wochenende. Bei mir gehts ab Montag wieder mit der Schule weiter... bis bald wieder...

Just saying hello... yes, I know, I should not be here, I should be studying!!! - repeating the sequences of Thai-massage... if you want to do it right, it does take an effort of what comes first, how to position the receiver and where are the energie lines ... not easy, but we are getting there...

I miss crafting as my island of sanity in every days craziness.... well, in the moment I have to look for other islands LOL, eg in a cooking course! LOL

Just thought of popping some pics in, to keep you tuned. Then longer I am here in Thailand, than more I love it - people are so friendly, food is so good! Markets are the most wonderful thing for me, let it be the one for vegetabels or the one for handicrafts....

Paper!!!

Wollte nur mal kurz hallo sagen,... ich sollte eigentlich nicht hier sein, denn ich sollte lernen - die Abfolgen der Thai Massage auswendig lernen und wiederholen... wenn man es ernsthaft und richtig machen will, dann ist es doch einiges was da zusammen kommt... zB was kommt zuerst drann, wie positioniere ich meinen Empfaenger, wo genau verlaufen die Energielinen.... aber so langsam wird es....
Ich vermisse mein Stempeln sehr - das ist irgendwie doch immer meine Oase in der Verrueckheit des Lebens... aber im Moment muss ich diese Oase woanders suchen LOL zB in einem Kochkurs LOL
Ich dachte ich schick euch mal ein paar Bilder. Je laenger ich hier in Thailand bin, um so schoener finde ich es. Die Leute sind superfreundlich und das Essen ist echt lecker. Der Hammer fuer mich sind die Maerkte - sei es fuer Gemuese, oder von handgemachten Dingen... viel Spass beim gucken

Waltzingmouse - blogwaltz

Hi there everybody,

Since I am traveling, I have to schedule this post reallllly early! But I love the Waltzingmouse blog waltzes and I wanted to participate, so I prepared my card and scheduled the blog and just hope the post will go online in time!

The challenge was shabby chic - now this is way out of my comfy zone, but this is what challenges are for, right? I have done my best and took the Asia set - I just love, love love it so much, plus with this full and empty cage I can say, what I really want to say - I miss you all!!!

Thinking of what would make a shabby-chic card, I came up with sponging and distressing the corners, no bright colours, wrinkled ribbon, buttons..... I tried to use it all and hope this card can be considered shabby-chic!! The idea of the ribbon came from Anya - I loved the way she did it, thanks for the idea!

Da ich sooo gerne am Blogwalzer von Waltzingmouse teilnehmen wollte, habe ich diesen Post mal vorbereitet und er geht dann zu gegebener Zeit online, hoff ich mal...

Dieses Mal war die Herausforderung chabby-chic. Das ist eigentlich so gar nicht mein Ding, aber ich hab mich versucht, dafuer sind Herausforderungen ja da! Mit dem Asia Set von Waltzingmouse konnte ich euch auch ausdruecken, was ich euch sagen wolte - ich vermisse euch!!!

Erst mal hab ich mir ueberlegt was chabby-chic ausmacht und kam zu dem Ergebnis, distresste und gewischte Rander, keine grelle Farben, und verknuelltes Band, sowie Knoepfe. Ich hab mal alles verarbeitet. Die Idee mit dem verknuellten Band stammt von Anya - vielen Dank fuer die Inspiration!

Das Papier ist von PTI; Stempel von Waltzingmouse Asian Style, Spruch PTI; Stempelkissen Distessed Ink Tattered Rose und Vintage photo; Band, Knoepfe und Halbperle vom Stoffmarkt.

Viel Spass beim walzen und auch wenn ich nicht gleich dabei sein kann, so komm ich bestimmt auf eueren Blog zum gucken, wenn ihr mir einen Kommentar hinterlasst... dauert nur einfach ;-)

One more for Christmas...

Before I traveled, I was in a rush to make up my challenge for 'Christmas all year'. So here comes another one for this month. I scored a square on the front (like the idea, but definitely need to exercise it) and to make it more obvious, I sponge around the outer square and stamped the little stars(PTI) in gold. Then I used the stars from PTI to fill the inner square. The stars are punched out and put on a 3D pad. Last the quote from Stamping Duck was added, I love that quote, fits nearly everywhere with the size and fond.

It was a fun and fast card . Hope you have a wonderful Sunday and enjoy your weekend.

Bevor ich auf die Reise ging, wollte ich noch schnell meine Weihnachtskarten fuer diesen Monat erledigen. Dieses Mal habe ich auf der Vorderseite ein Rechteck embossed. Das gefaellt mir eigentlich sehr gut, muss aber definitiv noch geuebt werden *grummel*. Um das Rechteck noch besser hervorzuheben, wurde ueber die Falzlinien und den aeusseren Teil des Rechteckes gewischt und der dann mit kleinen goldenen Sternen(PTI) bestempelt. Fuer den inneren Teil wurden die Sterne von PTI benutzt. Diese sind ausgestanzt und auf 3D Pads gesetzt. Der Weihnachtsgruss ist von Stamping Duck und passt durch seine Groesse und Schriftart eigentlich immer ueberall dazu.

clean & simple

You all know how much I like clean & simple and when I saw this sketch at the clean&simple-blog, I just had to give it a try - gorgeous sketch, really. Go over and have a look at the great sketch and all the submissions!

Here I used Waltzingmouse stamps (Crysanthemium) and a quote from SU, cardstock is from PTI. All is on one layer, flowers were masked, only some bling was added and some holes were punched ... I loved how it came out, although my original plan was very different....

Enjoy the day, I have to go to the airport now ....

Ihr alle wisst wie sehr ich CAS mag und als ich den Sketch auf dem Clean & Simple Blog sah, musste ich einfach mitmachen. Geht mal vorbei und schaut euch den Sketch und die tollen Werke dazu an.

Die Blumen sind von Waltzingmouse (Crysanthemium) und der Spruch von SU, cardstock von PTI. Alles ist auf einer Ebene gestempelt, die Blume maskiert, nur der Glitzerstein wurde noch angebracht und die Loecher gestochen .... irgendwie gefaellt mir, wie die Karte rauskam, obwohl alles ganz anders geplant war....

Jetzt wuensch ich euch noch einen schoenen Tag, ich muss los zum Flughafen....

Christmas...

Christmas is coming closer and closer... I feel (still)confident, because I could keep to my challenge of 3 Christmas cards a month and have a good stash now...

Here a card, I made earlier this month with WM stamps... I was hoping with the embossed white looks like a tree in a storm and snow on the branches ... some glitter was added.

Weihnachten kommt immer naeher und naeher... ich hab noch nicht so die Panik(fuer den Moment), denn ich konnte meine mir selbst gestellte Herausforderung 3 Weihnachtskarten im Monat zu machen, durchhalten und habe nun einen guten Vorrat. Diese Karte wurde schon vor einer Weile gemacht und im Stempelhuehnerhof 'Weihnachten das ganze Jahr' bereits gezeigt. Die Stempel sind von Waltzingmouse und ich hatte gehofft, mit dem Embossten weiss schaut es wie ein Baum im Sturm mit Schnee aus...

SI-Traveling

The new Saturday Inspiration (SI) at Stempelhuehnerhof is about 'traveling'. Around this time of the year, a lot of folks are traveling and those who don't, dream about it. Since I will be traveling soon, for some education purpose and that will involve, that I will fly and it fulfills a dream, I came up with this card. It is actually really simple and I love how it turned out. If you also like it, let me know...

Das neue SI im Stempelhuehnerhof heisst 'Reisen'! Viele von euch sind um diese Jahreszeit am Verreisen und wenn nicht, dann traeumen sie davon.

Bei mir steht mal wieder eine Reise an, diesmal nicht Urlaub, sondern Weiterbildung. Deshalb kam ich zu folgender Karte, denn meine Reise involviert- fliegen und die Erfuellung eines Traumes!. Es ist mal wieder eine CAS Karte geworden, aber es gefaellt mir wirklich gut wie sie rauskam... sollte sie euch auch gefallen, lasst es mich wissen..

Is it already this time of the year???

... when everybody gets crazy? Yes, I am speaking of Halloween...mmh, a bit early you say - may be you are right, but the DT of Waltzingmouse Stamps made me really crazy with the new Halloween sets - so I ended up pulling out my old 'Halloween Party Stamp Set' from Waltzingmouse - it is really not used enough, but then, Halloween is only one day and nobody is really celebration over here .... the silhouette of this witch is just toooo good for only one day, don't you think so?...... I took the sketch #8 of Waltzingmouse Sketch blog and was very much inspired by Julia's hole making idea. So the upper layer was stamped with the witch and then punched, sponged and put on 3D pads, then I filled the holes underneath with sparkle and bats.

Ja ist es denn bereits DIE Zeit im Jahr, wo alle verrueckt werden??? Ja, ich sprech von Halloween ... mmmh, ein bischen frueh meint ihr? - mmh, kann sein, aber das DT Team von Waltzingmouse hat mich ganz wuschig gemacht mit der Vorstellung der neuen Halloween sets ... so kam es, das ich mein gutes altes "Halloween Party Stamp Set" von Waltzingmouse rausgesucht habe. Da Halloween halt nur ein Tag ist, wird es wirklich nicht genuegend genutzt und irgendwie feiert ja hier auch keiner mit mir! Dabei ist die Silhouette der Hexe sooo toll, oder? Ich habe es mit dem Sketch#8 vom Waltzingmouse Sketch blog verarbeitet und mich stark von Julias Loechern inspirieren lassen. Die oberste Lage wurde mit der Hexe, Sterne und Mond bestempelt dann mit Distress "spiced marmelade' gewischt, LOL, und auf 3D pads gesetzt. Dann wurden die 'Loecher' mit Fledermaeusen und Glitzer gefuellt.

Ich hoffe es gefaellt euch ein wenig und wuensche euch einen guten Start in die neue Woche

Switzerland and Friends

At Stempelhuehnerhof the challenge is 'Switzerland' - because they have their national day today - happy celebrations my dear Swiss friends. I took red/white as a starting point, their national colours. Then is card is going to a friend who loves cats, which brings me to - 'Forever Friends', the challenge at 'A Passion for Papertrey' - it immediately rings the couch set and in the additions there is this cat!... so things started to fall together - the lamp is taken out of the 'charished' set - those three sets, fit perfect together and I love, love, love them! That quote is soooo nice, don't you think so....

Only the faux sewing is from a Waltzingmouse set and the buttons brought a bit of dimension on the card, which I have to have these days, otherwise the card seems not finished....

Auf dem dem Stempelhuehnerhof heisst die neue Herausforderung 'Schweiz' , weil die Schweiz heute ihren Nationalfeiertag hat. Ich habe hier als Ausgangspunkt die schweizer Farben gewaehlt rot/weiss...und weil die Karte an eine Katzenfreundin geht, ging es mit den 'Couch-sets' von PTI weiter - diese habe ich nach schweizer Gruendlichkeit heftig durchgenutzt. Das Sofa, Katze und der Spruch ist aus 'On my Couch Addions' und die Lampe ist aus 'charished' - diese drei Sets passen einfach klasse zusammen und es ist eine Wonne damit zu spielen. Der Spruch ist doch cool, oder? ... Die Karte passt zur 'A Passion for Papertrey' Herausforderung 'Forever Friends'!

Einzigst die faux Naht ist von Waltzingmouse und die Knoepfe machen ein wenig Dimension auf der Karte, etwas was ich im Moment einfach haben muss, sonst fuehlt sich eine Karte nicht fertig an!

Nun bleibt mir noch, euch einen schoenen Sonntag zu wuenschen - Leute es ist bereits August - ich weiss gar nicht wo die Zeit hin ist....
